Sustainability News
From Yolanda, Sustainability team
Here are some super sustainability ideas from our wonderful NMPS families this week. A massive thank you to Simon, Andrew and Lola for your thoughtful ideas and taking the time out to inspire us all to help care for our planet! Please keep sending the ways you are sustainable at home NMPS, together we can make a difference.
Sustainability at home
From Lola 5E (above)
Lola would like to share some of the things we do at home to help with sustainability. We only use combustible garbage bags and we do not use glad wrap or other plastic bags or wraps. Also, the Precycle Pantry (grey van) provides (environmentally friendly) refills for our everyday products such as: oats, laundry liquid, dishwashing liquid, olive oil and much more. It's a great service as we just keep reusing the same containers.
Ride to School
From Simon, Prep C
Here are some pictures illustrating our daily family commute to NMPS, childcare and work! We always bike, all 4 of us!
Reduce plastic
From Andrew 5A
We have something we’d like to share that we do at home to reduce plastic. We all know to take our own reusable carry bags to the supermarket or market now. How about those small clear plastic bags that we use to purchase our fruit and vegetables? We can reuse these too when we purchase our next lot of fruit and vegetables, just by taking the bags back to the supermarket or market inside our carry bags. Simple and so important!
