Reconciliation Week and acknowledgement of our Traditional Owners

At NMPS we are a community that values Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and understand the importance of reconciliation. We hope to strengthen our relationships with our First Nations communities, by learning about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements.

Each morning our classes acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the Land in which we learn, live and play. This term we have been reflecting on Australia’s history, and on Friday we watched Kevin Rudd’s 2008 Apology speech, to learn more about the significance of Sorry Day and work together to rebuild relationships within our community.

The Year 4’s created a variety of displays.
