Denise's Message

Dear Families,

Mother's Day

We wish all our Mums, Grandmothers, Aunts, and special women in our children's lives a very happy day on Sunday. Our mums and all the significant woman have a very special place in our hearts and we thank them for the love, nurturing, and care they give each of us.

I hope that on Sunday your families treat you to some special care and you are able to enjoy the day doing something very special. On this day we also think of those in our community who for varying reasons do not have their mum in their lives. To these people, know that our prayers and thoughts are with you and we hope you are able to enjoy the day recalling treasured memories and spending the day surrounded by those who love you most.

We celebrated Mother's Day at St Michael's on Tuesday and had a most magnificent day with a great response from our families, I hope you enjoyed the activities in each of the classroom areas and also the Band Choir performance.

On the same day, the children had the opportunity to purchase a special gift for their mum, I hope you received a lovely surprise on Sunday when they gave it to you.

PBL Yard Token Rewards

We have recently started a new reward system at our lunch and recess times to encourage our children to display our school values whilst playing.

Our school values are:

I am Respectful

I am Responsible

I am Safe

I am a Learner

During these break times school staff as well as our school student leaders will be looking for children who display these values in their interactions with others. When they see that happen they will reward the positive behaviour with a St Michael's token. The child will then place their token into their house team box.

Our House Team are:

McAuley - Blue

Lewis - Yellow

Frayne - Red

Patrick - Green

At our Assembly time each Friday the winning team will be announced and they will receive their team reward such as some extra playtime together.

This new system will deepen our children's commitment to living out our values and will also help develop a stronger connection to their House team.

I encourage you to talk to your child about this program.
