This term we have been working on investigating and developing an understanding in Earth and Space sciences.

The Pre-primary and Year 1 students have been looking at changes in landscapes and the sky. They had a lot of fun creating their own rain in a beaker. They realized they were real scientists using different sized beakers and pipettes.

Year 2 students have been studying the importance of looking after Earth’s Resources.

The Year 3 focus has been on the Earth, moon, and Sun. They really enjoyed investigating the efficiency of sunscreen SPF 50+.

The Year 3 /4 class has carried out investigations with rocks.

The Year 4 students were all shaken up when carrying out abrasion erosion investigations.

The Year 4 / 5 class has been studying soil and they have set up mini worm farms while learning about the importance of compost.

The Year 5 students are currently working on research related to their focus this term on our solar system.

The Year 5 /6 has been learning about natural disasters.

Year 6 started the term by learning the very useful skill of soldering. Many thanks to Mr Darcy for his expert guidance. Their focus is now on the favourite study of volcanoes. They are currently completing research and planning the construction of their working model of their chosen volcano.
