Open Day

Thank you so much to everyone who contributed to our Class display and to those who came by to visit on the day.  We loved showcasing our area; we were very impressed with the students who assisted us during set-up and those who spoke with our visitors throughout Open Day.

Endings

For many of the Year 12's, this will be the last week of school.  Well done, you've survived! I encourage you all to take a well-deserved break and reflect on the everything you have learned.  Even the more challenging times have positive outcomes as you set yourselves up for work, adulting life or further study.  Keep yourselves open to new opportunities and continue to learn new skills...you've got this!

Sign-off sheets: these will only be signed by your teachers if you have completed all assessments.

For those returning to complete exams, course work and projects - give yourselves some time out over the holidays so we can smash out your final weeks.

Year 11's will be returning for a full term of work and we look forward to focusing on your learning and setting you up for your final year of schooling.

Country Week

Three weeks ago, seventy-two students represented the College at Country Week, where they showed incredible sportsmanship throughout the week in all sports. When they weren’t running around on the fields and courts, the students had a lot of fun shooting the staff in laser tag, defeating the staff in bowling, and learning new life skills by making the most of the access to Uber Eats.

The staff involved would like to commend our students for their  behaviour in all activities throughout the week, they made the week smooth sailing and enjoyable for everyone. A special mention to all those students who helped collect the uniforms to be washed every night for all the teams, the effort was much appreciated!

Football

The boys played extremely well and were in the finals for their division, sadly going down in the last half to Albany SHS. Our team is to be congratulated on their conduct both on and off-field as student ambassadors of the College. Both Jacobs were impressive throughout the week, Jacob White led from the front and by example as team captain and Jacob Smith was voted players player by his teammates. Special mention to Hugh Telfer, the smallest man on the ground getting the highest in the air for a dangly!

Hockey

The Captain, Hayden and Vice-Captain, Imogen, pulled our team through the week with the team starting the week with injuries from weekend sport and some cramping. Our team came third in their division and consisted of a very eager and determined mix of both Year 11 and 12 students, with Jayden White taking out Coach's Choice for his incredible skills on the hockey field. Hayden Stewart received Players' Player for his amazing attitude both on and off the field.

Volleyball

The volleyball team had a very successful week at Country Week! We were fortunate to have Fraser Sutherland and Ryan Tiller who had both previously played volleyball at a higher level and kept the team on track throughout the week. After a win in their second match, the team proved to be an unstoppable force and went on to win gold in the boy's division! Other members of the team included Year 11's; Bevan, Blake, Harriet and Elisajane, and Year 12 Nikita Tiller. I was very impressed with the sportsmanship and support that these students showed each other throughout the week.

Basketball

The basketball boys had a huge week and ended up fifth in their division, although Eden’s continual dunking brought a crowd to our games at Bendat, even some of the Wildcats watched! Connor Hartley rose to the occasion to display his basketball skills and the team’s captain, Brenden Smith, ensured that all players kept their heads during some challenging games! Congrats boys!

Netball

Unfortunately for our girls, with the tail end of the School Ball and their own weekend sports, we started to tally up some injuries over the course of the week. Through the rolled ankles and sprain shoulders, however, the entirety of the netball teams remained good spirited and showed incredible sportsmanship towards their opponents. Jessie Read was voted Coaches' Choice as the embodiment of a team player in both netball teams; she was happy to play and fill in where needed. Matilda Williams was voted Players' Player for the B team and Chantelle was voted Players' Player for the D team for their incredible efforts on court throughout the week.
