Student Wellbeing

Paul Lock

Wellbeing Coordinator

Thank you to everyone who called in to the Wellbeing display on our recent Open Day. It was great to meet families of current students and prospective students. Thanks also to the many students who contributed to the display and helped us to set up and pull down, and contributed to the overall success of the day.

Our Positive Culture reward will be held this week. Sixty percent of students accrued zero demerit points over the past six weeks and have qualified for a couple of hours barefoot bowling at the Cunderdin club with a BBQ and treats. Well done to these students. Their cooperation and self-discipline is greatly appreciated. A further twenty five percent of students only received one or two Demerit points and their effort is also acknowledged and appreciated and we will work with them to try and get them on the reward next term.

As our year 12's are starting to finish up, the Wellbeing Team have been having conversations with as many students as we are able to see if there is anything we can do to help the transition to post secondary education. All students will receive a Youth Support wallet card with a crisis numbers list, and a more extensive eHelp handout with Wellbeing apps and websites to guide them to services, so that everyone is aware of the support available to young people across a wide range of needs.

Thanks also to our tree planters last week. Working with the student initiated EcoAg committee, we planted 144 local native shrubs at the front boundary of the College and celebrated our success with an ice-cream.

Well done team.
