Grade 1 & 2

Welcome to Grade 1 & 2 land. 😊 We have been doing lots of fun and exciting activities and have been involved in many learning opportunities. We can't wait to share them with you all. 🌸 🌈 

🤸‍♂️ Gymnastics –

This term, the Grade 1 and 2 students participated in a program at Eclipse Gymnastics. Students travelled to the studio every Monday for 5 weeks. The program incorporated a range of activities to develop strength, flexibility, coordination and the fundamentals of gymnastics skills. They used a variety of equipment such as balancing beams, foam pits, trampolines, blocks and ropes. The students rotated to different activities each week and were challenged to build core strength and be active in a fun and exciting way. 

Sarah – “I liked swinging on the rope and landing in the ‘L’ position”.

Grace – "I liked the rings, I liked the balancing beam which was kind of hard to balance".

🦘 CBL – 

We have been learning about the importance of 'Country' and how it provided for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. We have enjoyed listening Dreaming Stories and building our understanding of their significance to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. 

Hudson – "We have been learning about Aboriginals and we have made some possum skin cloaks".

Emersyn – "I learnt how Aboriginal women are known to be experts at making baskets and how the weapons were made and they always had one with them to protect them".
