From the Assistant Principal

Adele Brice

Hi everyone,

It's hard to believe that we have arrived at Week 8 of Term 3 - no doubt the next two weeks will fly by! In this issues of the newsletter, I'll be touching base regarding the following things;

-Child Safety Standards - Volunteers

-Child Safety Standards - Cyber Safety

-State Schools Relief

-Freezer Angels

-3/4 Camp

New Child Safety Standards

Volunteers

As you might remember from previous issues of the newsletter, there are new Child Safety Standards that came into effect from July this year. We need to ensure that staff and volunteers are equipped with knowledge, skills and awareness to keep young people safe through ongoing education and training.

Volunteers at WPPS will need to be aware of the school’s Child Safety and Wellbeing Policy and Child Safety Code of Conduct. We also need to sight, verify and record a Working with Children clearance. Training will be provided to volunteers as appropriate to their roles.

Child Safety - Cyber Safety Awareness

Cyber Safety Project

As you are no doubt aware, we partner with the Cyber Safety Project - we hope many of you attended the online parent session which was held in March of Term 1.

The Cyber Safety offers support to families through their website. The team strives to educate parents and families in supporting young people to participate safely and responsibly in their digital world.

If you would like to access this support, please head to; https://cybersafetyproject.com.au/families/
