5/6 News
Recently, Grade 6s have been doing sessions called Story School. This was run by an Author named Tristan Bancks. At the start we would use something called ‘Anything Goes,’ this is a 5 minute free choice writing time just to write whatever we want to. In the end of Story School, the aim was to write a beautifully descriptive story, with a hand crafted book cover, with a trailer to go with it. To work into writing a whole story we would have little prompts to find out things about our character or setting. Such as writing a half a page on your character’s fears or a paragraph or two describing our setting to work into writing an amazing piece of writing. Everyone should be so proud of themselves and the incredible stories they wrote.
A couple of weeks ago we had our 3-6s do our school Athletics. Everyone tried so hard no matter where they came! It was a super fun day and we’d like to thank all the teachers and parents that helped us on that day. For each event we had the first place winners with the best time, height etc, go through to District Athletics which was on Thursday the 1st of September. These people were representing our school and all did an incredible job.
Well done to everyone!
In early August, some of the 5/6 girls went to play netball against some schools around Victoria. They traveled on a bus to Caulfield & District Netball Association Courts. They were split into four teams, Team S, Team J, Team L and the Competitive Team. The teams played 5 games of netball, with the competitive team making the finals. On the 31st of August the Competitive team set out to win the Final. The Competitive team did amazing and placed 4th out of the schools that participated. Great job girls!
Competitive Team: Maggie R, Marlea S, Charly T, Islah B, Lucy G, Zoe B, Maya M, Poppi S and Grace B.

3/4 News
Recently the Grade 3 and 4 students have been on Camp Weekaway. They had lots of fun with friends, and really enjoyed the activities. The activities included archery, canoeing, zipline, crate stacking, damper, Gaga Ball, and much more.
From 3C, Harper, Ethan and Miles told me about their time at Camp. Harper’s favourite activities were canoeing and archery. Her favourite thing about camp was being away from her siblings and participating in activities with her friends. Meanwhile, Ethan liked how fun everything was and Miles liked spending time with friends.
Charli and Isaiah from Grade 4 told me that Isaiah’s favourite activities were crate stacking and zip-lining. He told me about the time him and his friends were in the cottage and they pretended that someone was outside and trying to get in! Charli’s favourite activities were crate stacking, like Isaiah, and canoeing. She enjoyed hanging out with her friends, Maple and Olivia.
The students had lots of fun at camp, spending time with friends and having fun with the teachers.

Grade 1/2 News
Our school had an awesome excursion which the grade 1/2’s participated in. This excursion was gymnastics at Eclipse Gymnastics, there were so many fun activities for them to enjoy. One of the collective favourites was the ropes where you could climb to the very top! Though, that’s not the only thing there was to offer! The foam pit was difficult to get out of, and they were able to touch the sky whilst jumping on the trampolines. Some of the kids learnt to cartwheel and are very proud of them selves for landing correctly. They were also entertained by some games which they played on the floor area. One of these games were called ‘Scarecrow Tag’. These games guaranteed tons of laughs!
This Gymnastics excursion was a special experience that everyone enjoyed! We can’t wait for the next one!

Alex from Prep B says that they had to make pictures by gathering materials from outside. Asha.P from Prep C enjoyed making the 100 days crown and she stuck shiny jewels to her crown. The Preps also enjoyed going on an excursion to gymnastics and getting to do fun exercises and activities.
