Each year since 1945, the CBCA has brought children and books together across Australia through CBCA Book Week. During this time, schools and public libraries spend one glorious week celebrating books and Australian children's authors and illustrators. Classroom teachers, teacher librarians and public librarians create colourful displays, develop activities, run competitions and tell stories relating to a theme to highlight the importance of reading. You will often see parades with students dressed as their favourite book characters.
This year's Book Week theme was "Dreaming with eyes open". We had so many amazing costumes from students and staff. We started our day with a school parade to showcase everyone's costumes. We had a vote for girl and boy "Best Costume" in Years Prep-2 (Jordan and Jersey), Years 3 & 4 (Stevie and Jake) and Years 5 & 6 (Wyleigh and Poppy). Well done, though to everyone. You all looked fantastic!!
Last week we held a Fathers Day breakfast to say thank you to all the dads, grandparents and carers at Numurkah Primary School. We had a great turnout. Thank you to everyone who joined us. Everyone enjoyed a cooked breakfast of eggs, bacon and sausages.
Congratulations go out to Grace for winning the Fathers Day raffle!
A big thank you to Narelle and Stacy from Deadly Art in Numurkah for helping us create this beautiful mural in our office courtyard, the colours and native drawings really brings our school to life, and our students had a great time helping create this piece.
Thank you to the parents and friends committee.
