Uniform Reminders
VSC has a student dress code which promotes a sense of identity, cohesion, and collective pride. Please ensure that your child is wearing the full college uniform for all school days and when travelling to and from school.
If a student is trying out for a sport or has training at lunchtime, the expectation is that students will be in their normal school uniform on the day and get changed into a PE Uniform for tryouts, then change back into their regular uniform for Period 4. If after school, students will be in normal school uniform for the school day and get changed into PE gear at the end of the day.
If a student is unable to be in complete school uniform, please contact the relevant Student Manager by email so a Uniform Pass can be logged as a Compass Chronicle note.
VSC’s approved uniform supplier is PSW, located at Unit 8a/51 Lusher Rd, Croydon. Phone: 9768-0336.
Orders can also be placed online at www.PSW.com.au
Punctuality
At VSC we pride ourselves on our academic achievements, a key part of this is arriving on time to school at the start of the day and to all of our classes. Missing the first 5, 10 or 15 minutes of class, means missing an essential part of the lesson where key instructions are provided and success criteria for the lesson a outlined. We would ask that families support us by ensuring that their child is ready for learning at the start of the day, by checking in with their child about what classes they have on and making sure students are able to arrive to school on time. Students also like to be reminded to charge devices the night before coming to school!
Lockers
Students are again reminded to ensure that all valuables are placed in a locker and that this is secured with a combination or padlock as per school policy. Spare keys to be labelled and handed into your Student Managers so that we can assist when keys are lost/forgotten etc. Student Managers will continue checking lockers and reminding students.
Coming up - Cycle 2 Reports.
As we head into the final quarter of Semester One, we encourage students and parents to be mindful of due dates for assessment tasks before reports are written. Please support us by ensuring you are responsive to communications from classroom teachers and communicate any concerns early. Report Writing Day is scheduled for 15/6/23 – this will be a pupil free day.
Please note Semester 2 classes will commence on Monday 19th of June. This means for all Year 8 students some significant timetable changes will occur. This will include the end of semester-based classes and the beginning of some new classes. Check Compass over this weekend and make sure you are across the changes.
