On Wednesday the 17th May, the Years 5 and 6 had an amazing time participating in the WORLD OF MATHS INCURSION. During this incursion, we got the opportunity to explore lots of brain puzzles and problem solving activities. It definitely hurt my brain a bit but I thoroughly enjoyed spending time working out math problems with my with friends. I learnt not to give up, and if I am struggling with a problem I need to look at it from a different angle (pun intended). This incursion was another great way to learn maths, persist with a problem, and test your brain to its limits. At the end I was super sad that the incursion had ended but really happy that I got to experience this wonderful opportunity.

On May 15th to May 19th was Numeracy Week at our school. We had a staff member from World of Maths come to visit. All students from Foundation to Year 6 participated in fun and engaging math games and problem solving activities.
There were numerous games and activities to do within the time of 2 hours that included the Ski Race, Through the Forest and Snake Patterns. The two people that came from World of Maths were Soren and Noah. They were good at maths and go around Victoria and Australia running these fun interactive sessions. Some students from Year 5 and 6 were chosen to help with the Foundation to Year 2 sessions.
All of the activities had students engaged for 1 hour and 30 minutes with laughter and brain breaking activities that caused them to think hard and take their time.
Everyone had fun with the engaging activities that the World of Maths company planned and we would like to thank them for their time to give GPS a really fun time and showing Maths is not ordinary but a lot of fun.
