Aim

This two year course will provide an entry level qualification into the tourism industry and provide an insight into the skills and qualifications required to progress in the industry.

 

It will also provide students with a pathway into a Certificate IV in Tourism or Diploma in Tourism.

 

The Holmesglen tourism course has a very 'hands on' approach to learning about the tourism industry. Students in both years will have the opportunity to use the latest tourism industry technology in a simulated tourism office and be trained by travel industry professionals.

 

You will learn how to prepare quotes, source airfares for domestic flights and sell tourism products and services. We also teach you how to provide great customer service and participate in safe work practices.

 

Years 1 and 2

Assessment

This program is not a scored study. Students who successfully complete the Unit 3 & 4 sequence will receive one ATAR increment which is calculated as 10 per cent of the fourth study score of the primary four Unit 3 & Unit 4 VCE studies.

 

Entry requirements

Prior to enrolment or commencement of training you will be required to complete a literacy and numeracy assessment and a pre-training interview.

 

These will assist with determining your suitability to the course, verify your training plan, and identify any learning support needs.
