Gardening

In celebration of National Reconciliation Week students have been spending time in our Woiwurrung Garden.

We discussed ways in which we can care for Country, which in turn cares for us.

Students tasted river mint tea, old man salt bush, finger limes and spiny headed mat-rush.

We checked out the new plantings of Murnong and Themeda, and discussed their significance on Country, as referenced in Aunty Joy Murphy's Welcome to Country, and Bruce Pascoe's Young Dark Emu.

Students made seed balls containing Kangaroo Grass (Themeda) seeds to take home.
