Class 3/4 Steiner–Celebrating Learning

Over the last couple of weeks 3/4S completed a numeracy unit on animals and became engaged in a week of The Art and History of Writing. We had fun writing in the ancient scripts cuneiform (sumerian), futhark (nordic), hieroglyphics (egyptian) and early linear script (Phoenician). It was wonderful to see how excited they were to do this amazing work. Tomorrow we start a main lesson on norse mythology. Neil Giman’s text will be used for the fantastical stories.

During the writing main lesson the children of 3/4S found their names written in runes, the ancient symbols that make up the nordic alphabet known as futhark.

The children have started their animal presentations.
