Celebrating Learning

Over the past weeks 1S have continued to explore addition and subtraction, through hands-on activities, with a focus on place value. Students have also been applying their maths understanding to bake fresh bread from scratch as a whole class. Together we followed instructions to mix ingredients and each student had the opportunity to knead their bread before patiently waiting for the deliciousness to bake. As we head into Winter we will be baking bread each week and work towards cooking soup to share with our bread. Yum!

In literacy we have read Sleeping Beauty and Rapunzel and students have been practising writing their own recounts about these stories. 

1S also wrote down our bread recipe and had a go at writing their own instructions to follow. Students have also been reading lots of books in the classroom to themselves and out loud to each other.
