Wear It Yellow is an annual campaign held by Children's Ground during National Reconciliation Week (27 May to 3 June). Children's Ground is a First Nations not-for-profit organisation changing the future for First Nations children, families and communities. They are led by First Nations communities across Central Australia and the Top End.

We appreciate our families supporting a fantastic organisation for Aboriginal children, families and communities.

If you would wish to donate online, please follow the link below to the Wear It Yellow page. This page is also a great way of keeping an eye on how much we raise overall as a school at Woodland Road Public School! Our money metre is nice and clear on the website.

Polyfest 2023

Woodland Road Public School are partaking in the PolyFest celebrations held at Ambarvale High School on June 15th. Students of varying grades and cultural backgrounds have put their hand up to participate in the Polynesian dances that have been choreographed for the day. It is exciting that they will have the opportunity to learn about the Polynesian culture in dance and music!

Please see the poster below for more details of PolyFest if you would like to attend.

PREMIER’S SPELLING BEE

The Premier's Spelling Bee will be going ahead this year. Our school will have the opportunity to enter one junior and one senior student at regional finals in August-September, this year to be held by video connection.

I have handed out spelling word lists for any students that are interested and I hope to test those students over the next few weeks to determine who our school representatives will be.

Please ask your child or teacher for the password to access the words online. The list words are covered by copyright.
