Grade 5/6 Huon and Sassafras

HaSS

Huon and Sassafras have been learning about the Gold Rush. We have been looking at how society progressed from trading goods to using the currency we have today. We have started to explore the events of the Gold Rush in the 1850s and the conditions the diggers lived in to try and strike it rich. We have even begun to pan for gold ourselves.

Digital Technologies

Huon and Sassafras have been creating a maths game using Google Slides. We planned our slides and discussed user interface. This included the colours we use (eg: the colour green for go, start and correct and the colour red for stop and incorrect) and the pictures or symbols we use (eg: a smiley face, tick or thumbs up for correct and a thumbs down, frown or cross for incorrect). We also created links in our slides so that when we click on an option it takes us to another slide. We look forward to sharing our games with both Grade 3/4 classes for them to play.
