Congratulations Ms Belinda and our Gardening Team who were successful in their application for a Gardening Grant earlier this year. Two representatives from Woolworths in Abbotsford came to our Monday assembly to present a certificate, three big trays of fruit and, of course, $1000 to help us develop a Bush Tucker Garden.  Our thanks to Ashanta the manager of Woolworths Abbotsford.

Sustainabilty & Gardening News

What a busy and fun day we had in the garden today! Gardening Club, Year 5/6 helpers and our Sustainability Leaders built our new worm farms, ready for our school composting program to start next week. We made 4 worm farms with 1000 worms! First, we had to harvest some plants and make room for our bins to be dug in, so some lucky students are bringing home lettuce, calendula and parsley plants today.

This is going to be a great way to cut down how much rubbish we send to landfill and the food scraps will turn into compost to help our veggies grow.

On Monday, Woolworths came to present our certificate for our grant award. It was so wonderful to hear the enthusiasm and ownership our students displayed as they talked about the gardening program.

Thanks everyone for your great efforts in helping us live in a way that is kinder to our environment!

Have a great week everyone!
