Ollie's Trip to Fiji
During the school holidays me and my Dad went to Fiji. We travelled on an aeroplane for four hours to get there and the next morning we headed out to the Yasawas which is a group of islands. It was hot and we went for lots of swims. I also learnt to snorkel and went snorkelling with manta rays and even sharks!
Then we went to three schools in different parts of Fiji and dropped off the supplies that we had collected from Moreland. The villages were called Kese, Namara and Navala and they were very different from Melbourne. The houses were made of natural materials like bamboo and leaves and had corrugated iron roofs. There weren’t any cars either and everyone walked around on foot. The students all wore uniforms but didn’t wear any shoes!
We had lots of books, textas and pencils to drop off. The kids loved all of the stuff but the sports supplies were the most popular. Thanks Costa!
Thanks to everyone at MPS for your donations. It was interesting visiting the schools and meeting lots of kids. I’d like to go back one day and take Mum and Matilda.
