DO YOU RECYCLE YOUR SOFT PLASTICS?
Currently only 22% of Australians do, that’s pretty terrifying!! Think of all that plastic going to landfill.
It is SUPER easy to recycle soft plastics. Simply collect them at home (you could collect them each week in a bag or box you have at home) and then drop them into your local supermarket. That’s it, so simple right?!
At the supermarket you will see a bin like this to pop your plastics into.
You will be amazed at how much rubbish you prevent going to landfill this way, your rubbish bin will be almost empty!
How do you know which soft plastic products can be recycled? Simply look for either of these symbols on your packaging:
Another good way to know is to use the scrunch test - if you can scrunch it in one hand it is most likely plastic that can be added to the soft plastics collection.
