Year 4 students were treated to an amazing concert at the Hamer Hall on Friday, July 22nd. We saw the indigenous performer William Barton. He was accompanied by the 60-piece ‘Pops Orchestra’ conducted by John Foreman. We were not permitted to record any footage but I have included some still shots. Special thanks to the parents who accompanied us on the train and to the show. Without your help, these excursions would not be possible!
Here is footage of William playing in Queensland.
Our circus skills program is off to a great start! Students are learning in a non- competitive sporting environment using collaboration, team building, resilience and celebrating their successes each week. Squeals of ‘YESSSSSSS’ ‘I can do it’ ‘I’ve got it’ are heard whilst others are complimenting their peers. It’s one of the best programs we have had! Here is some footage to give you an insight. Thank you for your support of the Arts Program.
On July 27th our Hampton Harmonies choir performed at the Bayside Christmas in July gathering. The students sang beautifully at The Hampton Community Centre. Congratulations to HH! Thanks to the parents who walked with us. Your support is wonderful!

Our freshly painted HPS Adélie penguins are heading to Hobart!
Beginning in 2016, the Mawson’s Hut Foundation held the inaugural Australian Antarctic Festival which is held every two years attracting tourists from around Australia and overseas.
2022 AUSTRALIAN ANTARCTIC FESTIVAL: Thursday 25th - Sunday 28th August
The only event of its kind in Australia, the biennial Australian Antarctic Festival in Hobart provides visitors with the opportunity to enjoy a fascinating program of Antarctic science and discovery.
We are one of 150 schools each to paint and return 50 Adélie penguins to the festival. If you are looking for a short getaway, go and see the results of the extraordinary colour and creativity of the ‘Penguin Rookeries’ displays. They are hoping to receive more than 8,000 hand-painted Adelie penguin cut-outs this year.
About Mawson’s Hut Foundation
The Mawson’s Huts Foundation was established as a not-for-profit charity in 1996 to conserve the historic huts at Cape Denison, East Antarctica, which were used by the 1911-14 Australasian Antarctic Expedition (AAE) as its main base for two years. Led by Dr (later Sir) Douglas Mawson, the expedition’s huts are regarded as the birthplace of Australia’s Antarctic heritage and are protected by national and international law.
