A Message from the Principal
On Saturday we celebrated as a community with our Year 6 students, as they were presented for the Sacrament of Confirmation. It was a joyous occasion and a special event in our student's lives. I would like to thank all of the staff involved in the preparation of this sacrament, especially Emma Pattison, Rhett Masters and Melinda Buscema, for the extra work they contributed to this celebration. I was especially proud of our students and how reverently and respectfully they participated in the ceremony and to all of their families who have supported them through their Faith journey and helped to make the day so special for us all.
This week at St John's it is Staff Wellbeing Week and I invite you all to make a card with your children to say Thank-you to the class teachers, specialist teachers and learning support officers, who work with your children each day, to support their learning and in so many other ways. I will be giving them special treats each day also.
Thank-you to everyone who was able to attend the Student Led Conferences last Wednesday. I value hearing about your experience of these conferences and ask that you complete this short survey to share your feedback.

This is just a reminder that there will be no school for students this Wednesday 24 August. The staff will be involved in Professional Development Activities throughout the Day.
Last week we celebrated all things Italian with activities, a special lunch and comdey performance from Luigi Zucchini. The students thoroughly enjoyed the magic, the suspense and suprises that Luigi shared with us all. A big thank-you to Signora Rosetta De Amicis for organising the day and to Julia Foster and the Community Association for coordinating our special lunch of pizza and gelati from Neros Pizza.
St John's Parish Fete
Plans are well underway for this Year St John's Parish Fete which will be held on Saturday 19 November. This is a huge community event and has been a significant part of our Parish for over 60 years. Most stalls now have coordiantors and helpers but I am reaching out to our school community to see if anyone is able to assist in any of the following ways:
- Coordinator for Crafts and Gifts Stall
- Craft and gift makers to help create products for the stall
- Coordinating the Pre-loved Toys Stall
- Liason for the Raffle at St John's School (The Raffle is all organised but we need help to distribute and collect ticket books to our school families)
- Coordinator for the Snow Cone Stall
- Helpers for Fairy Floss Stall
Please let me know if you can assist in any way!
