Acting Principal's Message

100 days of Prep
On Monday 1st August we celebrated 100 days of school for our Prep Students. What a wonderful achievement by all the students. They engaged in exciting activities throughout the day celebrating the momentous occasion.
Book Week
What a wonderful week the students had celebrating Book week, finishing with a Book week assembly with the students dressing up in their favourite book characters such as Harry Potter, Snow White, Alice in Wonderland and Mario Brothers.
This year we re-introduced the Book Fair in the library. What a huge success! Children had the opportunity to share their love of reading by purchasing popular and engaging texts, stationery items and toys. Thank you to Frances Braithwaite and Helen Styles for their organisation with the Book Fair for 2022.
Child Safe Standards
The Victorian Government has announced new Child Safe Standards to further strengthen child safety across organisations, including schools. The new standards recognise the critical importance of families and the broader school community in maintaining and promoting child safety and wellbeing.
Our school is in the process of reviewing and updating our child safety policies and procedures to ensure they meet the requirements of the new standards. We are committed to continuous improvement in our approach to child safety and wellbeing and welcome feedback from families and members of our school community on ways we can further strengthen our child safety policies, procedures and practices. So over the coming months we will progressively update our school policies and procedures taking into account the new Child Safe Standards and share these with the school community, inclusive of our School Council.
Free Dress Day - Wednesday 17th August
Congratulations to Elizabeth Z (5LR) and Daniel P (6SP) for successfully qualifying for the School Sport Victoria Team VIC championships. Elizabeth will represent the state in Swimming and Daniel will participate in the Hockey. In support of their terrific sporting achievements we will be holding a Free Dress day on Wednesday 17th August. Students may come to school in 'Free dress' and we ask for a gold coin donation to support both Elizabeth and Daniel's participation at the School Sport championships in Brisbane (Swimming) and Canberra (Hockey) next week. Good luck Elizabeth and Daniel.
