VISUAL ARTS AT RPS

In 2022, the entire school has had the experience of working with clay from Foundation to Year 4.

Students were super excited and over-joyed to experience the following:

  • Creating clay leaves and texture on clay in Foundation
  • Creating pinch pots in Years 1 and 2
  • Creating functional pieces of ceramic pots with coils in Years 3 and 4

The students embraced an opportunity to work with these mediums and use their imagination, as well as experiment with different clay tools.

Well done Ripper Ceramicists! You are all so creative!!

The Year 3 and 4 students have been busy working on their logo design for the 100th Centenary celebrations of Ripponlea Primary School.

They have been focusing on writing the words ‘Ripponlea Primary School’ using Graffiti lettering style writing which includes creating blocks of bubble letters with drop shadows, blending colours, and highlights, and using a drip paint effect.

Students have become expert little signwriters!

The Year 5 and 6 Students have been very excited to embrace the Ceramics Professional Learning Program delivered by Kim Mannix and Miss Arendze.

The students are working towards creating totem poles based on the Glen Eira Natural environment for the front of the school.

They have learned how to shape, pull and mould the clay and also how to join clay pieces. We have been very excited to see the variety of amazing sculptures they have created with Kim’s ceramic expertise.

We are super excited to see the final art creations across all year levels as we move through Term 3.
