Signs of a healthy relationship

A healthy relationship brings more happiness than sadness or stress. The other person doesn’t scare you and you can talk openly about your feelings.

A healthy relationship is respectful, meaning you:

  • Listen to each other’s opinions and feelings
  • Are able to celebrate achievements
  • Don't insult or abuse each other when arguing
  • Don't force each other to do things you don’t want to do
  • Don't control or manipulate each other.

Relationship behaviour that is abusive is never OK and may be domestic and family violence or sexual violence.

BE AN UPSTANDER!

Child Safety Champions work with the school leadership team, teachers, students, volunteers and the wider community to create a child-safe environment in the school. If you see, hear or notice any unusual or concerning behaviour that you feel needs reporting, our child safety champions are your first point of contact.

Who can you get in touch with?

Parents at any point can get in contact with members of our leadership team including Natalie Rose and Marta Campbell if they have any concerns or wish to report an incident regarding a child or member of the community.

We all have a DUTY of CARE.

All school staff have a duty of care to take reasonable steps to protect children in their care from harm that is reasonably foreseeable. This duty of care extends to members of our community as well.

As adults, we all play a critical role in protecting children from harm. As a parent or carer, you have the primary responsibility for protecting and caring for your children and supporting them to build relationships that are safe and respectful.

You also play a critical role in identifying and responding to suspected abuse within the community. In fact, it may amount to a criminal offence if you fail to report suspected child sexual abuse.
