MATHEMATICS WEEK CELEBRATION

 

The college celebrated Mathematics Week from August 1-5 this term . Like in the previous years, various activities were done in  Year 7-10 Mathematics classes to enjoy and take part in celebrating this week and to see the practical applications of Maths in everyday lives. The usual Bake a cake/cupcake contest, a kahoot game of Maths questions, Trivia questions and Family Homework sheet were some activities enjoyed by the students. Tuck shop and pizza vouchers and K-mart gift cards were given as prizes.

 

It was also this week that the 2022 Australian Maths Competition was held in the hall. A total of 100 students took part in this competition. It is designed to attract students to the joy of maths by demonstrating its place in everyday life and making it fun. This competition is one of the largest educational mathematics competition in Australia. It is an engaging problem solving that demonstrates the importance and relevance of mathematics in students’ everyday lives.
