Assistant Principal News

As always our College is a hive of activity with a number of engaging events taking place.

Our Year 10 and 8 students have engaged actively in our subject selection process and we enjoyed meeting with Year 10 students and their parents/guardians for our I Day interviews.

Numerous sport excursions have also taken place with our students performing well in Basketball, netball and soccer tournaments. Our chess team was once again triumphant and the involvement of our students in running the popular T3 cafe continues to impress.

I am pleased to say that our Year 12 students have had a positive journey through their HSC Trial Exams. Students have left exams generally feeling happy with their performance, time management and level of understanding. This clearly demonstrates the capacity and confidence of our students and highlights the support and explicit teaching from our staff in preparing students for their examinations. The students also receive continued support from their Pastoral Leader Mr Lawler  who has often  been with the students to calm nerves and offer guidance before and after the exams.

While students finish their exams this week, the journey is not over. For many students the finalisation and submission of their major projects is currently occuring. Our Creative Arts department has once again been busy preparing for their major performances with the Drama trial night taking place last week and the music trial performances taking place next Wednesday evening. Our TAS department is also working extensive hours to assist students with the completion of their major projects. I thank all of these staff members for their expertise and dedication.

It will be important for Year 12 to refocus after the Trials and Major Projects and reflect meaningfully on their results in order to continue on their journey to HSC Success.

Our Kindness project is also in full swing with students encouraged to undertake one random act of kindness each day to enhance someone's College experience. Our students have taken to the project with gusto as they are reminded ‘in a world where you can be anything… be kind’.

Yours in Learning
