Carevan Term 3

We have started caravan this term with new students keen to learn all about carevan and how they can help out. The year 10 students from the community action team have been mentored and educated around social awareness and compassion for those living in poverty. Staff have also promoted carevan to their home rooms, where students from years 8 and 9 have been proactive in volunteering to cook during their lunch and recess time to help prepare meals for those in need.

Through love we have seen our staff and students come together to show kindness to those who don’t receive it otherwise, with the hope to make our community better.

I would like to thank Maureen Shannon for coordinating our MCC Carevan and her Tas assistants for their preparation in the food tech rooms, along with our regular staff and students and to the new staff members and students who have come along to contribute to the community. The students understand what Carevan provides to the community and other services that are available for anyone in need. Understanding the benefits of nutrition and preparing, planning and cooking the food distributed to the community and combining social networking and awareness.

Kmart Thank you – I CARE KIT

As a major retailer, Kmart has been able to support the communities in which we operate here at Marian Catholic College.  Kmart is committed to helping communities thrive, where partnering with local and global organisations whose visions and programs have positive impacts on the people in the communities they serve. Here at Marian Catholic College we work together in a collaborative manner to create kits for people who are at risk of or find themselves homeless.

Kmart generously donated items that we were lacking, to complete our I Care kits, and it would not have been possible without the help of the Store Manager Peter West, his staff and management.

Thank you to Kmart Griffith for your continuous support and generosity.
