Level 5/6

It is hard to believe how quickly our first term has flown by and that we are a quarter of the way through the year! Students in Year 5 and 6 have embraced 2022 with such wonderful enthusiasm and we are so thrilled with the way they have taken on their many roles as leaders of the school.

Harmony Day was a wonderful way for the students to celebrate the diversity within our classes and also to work closely with our class Buddies to celebrate our differences, similarities and cultural backgrounds. We enjoyed working on collaborative projects with the younger students and also having the opportunity to come dressed in traditional dress or the Harmony Day colour of orange.

The House Athletics carnival and Cross Country events were other highlights over the past few weeks. The students were able to celebrate their successes, support younger students and help to run activities throughout both of these fantastic days. We are extremely proud of the way all students in Year 5 and 6 participated and perhaps even stepped outside of their comfort zones to show excellent growth mindset and a ‘can do’ attitude.

We loved presenting our Prep Buddies with their Schultutens as a part of the Rangeview German tradition. The Preps and senior students were very excited and proud of this wonderful process that is a lovely part of the German studies undertaken at our school.

We are finishing our Inquiry Unit exploring Natural Disasters this week and look forward to sharing the students individual and small group presentations about their chosen Natural Disaster throughout the final week of term.

We wish all our Level 5 and 6 students and families a safe and happy holidays and look forward to more fantastic learning in Term 2.
