Japanese & French Excursions

Year 9, 10 & 11

Japanese Excursion (Year 9 & 10)

(Itadakimasu!)

This is what Japanese people say before eating their meals, which teaches respect for all living things. They say this while putting their hands together and bowing slightly to thank to the plants, animals, farmers, chefs, and everything that went into the meal.

Over the last fortnight, the Year 9 and 10 Japanese students visited the Consulate-General of Japan for a cultural seminar, learning about Japanese food, manners and travelling. After the seminar, students visited SuperHiro Japanese restaurant in the city to experience authentic Japanese dining. The students had dishes such as the Tonkatsu lunch set, Teriyaki Salmon lunch set and much more, finishing their meals with Black Sesame and Matcha Ice cream. (It was delicious!).

The students also participated in a scavenger hunt where they had to search for Japanese products such as Japanese lemonade, stationary and sweets at Daiso!
