Principal's Message

by Ms Reynolds

The start to term 2 began by remembering ANZAC day. Our service was run beautifully by our student leaders (with the help of Mrs Melhem) and attended by Alice O'Connor from our local RSL sub-branch. Alice engaged the audience with a story about how ANZAC biscuits came to be and how the soldiers only had one pair of socks over there, and so family made socks to send over. She also presented the annual Frank Ashton BEM ANZAC award for loyalty, mateship and community spirit, to Kaarunya M from Year 2.

NAPLAN

This week, our Year 3 and Year 5 students will participate in the NAPLAN tests. These are Australia-wide tests for students in writing ability, reading comprehension, grammar and word use, and maths skills. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday will see Year 3 and year 5 students sitting these tests during class time - online. Please make sure your child is here on time and has had good sleep and a good breakfast!

COVID update

Just a reminder that COVID is still in our community. If you are sick or have any flu-like symptoms - please stay at home. If you are a household contact and are feeling well - you no longer have to isolate. Instead, do a RAT every morning before school and you can come. Please ring the school if you have any questions (9637-1562).

Mothers Day

A very happy Mothers Day to all for yesterday. Thank you to our P&C team who held a stall on Friday to support our students and families. I hope mothers felt noticed, cared for and pampered.
