Religious Education

All students attending St Louis de Montfort's Aspendale have the right to feel safe. The care, safety and wellbeing of children and young people is a fundamental responsibility of all within our school.                                                                                     Marylene Douglas

Wow, what a fantastic way to start the term! St Louis' Feast Day was a great school celebration of our patron saint. The actual feast of St Louis de Montfort is on April 28th. Louis was born to a poor family in 1673 at Montfort, France. He was educated at the Jesuit College in Rennes and ordained there in 1700. Louis became a priest and spread the Word of God everywhere that he went. He had a special devotion to Mary and  taught people to love and pray to Mary the mother of Jesus.

He lived his life to show God’s love to all people and encourages us today and each day to do the same. St Louis embodied the Gospel values that we here at this school also aim to live by.

We started the day with a very reverent mass identifying many of St Louis de Montfort's special traits.

After Mass, students walked to Brown's Reserve with their buddies to enjoy an afternoon of fun and engaging activities provided by Kaboom. Students were also treated to a sausage sizzle and drink, all in honour of our patron saint St Louis.

Please keep the Year 4 students in your prayers as they prepare for their First Eucharist later in May. May students attended a Family Workshop on Wednesday night and were able to deepen their understanding of this sacrament.

Year 4 CR and 4GY will be receiving the sacrament on Sunday 22nd May at 12.30 and 2.30 respectively whilst students in Year 4MP and 4LP will be receiving the sacrament on Sunday 29th May at 12.30 and 2.30.

Sending a big THANK YOU to families who have returned their Project Compassion Donation Boxes. We have already raised almost $800. If you have not yet returned your donation box can you please do so as soon as possible.
