Whittlesea Food Collective

On Friday afternoons throughout term one, our VCAL students have been participating in activities at Whittlesea Food Collective, a local organisation which supports families experiencing food insecurity. Located at Melbourne Polytechnic’s Epping campus, WFC comprises a demonstration garden and food distribution centre. The students have done a brilliant job participating in tasks like harvesting vegetables, packing boxes with produce to be given to patrons, preparing garden beds for planting and, of course, doing endless weeding!

Supporting our efforts were Ms Scane and the team of students who cooked meals at the College. All the delicious food prepared was donated to WFC.

All VCAL students participating in these programs have worked hard in service of the community and received a participation certificate for their efforts. We thank Zaineb and the lovely people at WFC for the opportunity to learn and give back.
