Learning@Home

Many families have decided to continue their Learning@Home this week, with approximately 80% of students Learning@Home today. Thank you to all the families who have notified us that they are self isolating and adopting Learning@Home with their children. New resources are available for Kinder students at the Front Office. If you are keeping your children at home to self isolate and haven't notified the College, please do so by phone or email so we can record their attendance correctly.

Password Maintenance for Students

The most common requests for IT assistance from students is to help reset passwords. Passwords expire to ensure security on accounts. Here are some instructions from our hardworking IT Team to assist with changing passwords.

Instructions for changing a password which has NOT already expired:

  1. Go to Webmail (https://mail.tareeccs.nsw.edu.au/)
  2. Sign in with your current username and password
  3. In the top right,  click on the cog, then click Options
  4. On the left, click General, then My Account
  5. In the main window, click 'Change Your Password'
  6. Type your current password, then a new one twice
  7. Click the Save button and your password has now been changed

Instructions for changing a password which HAS already expired:

  1. Go to Webmail (https://mail.tareeccs.nsw.edu.au/)
  2. Sign in with your current username and password
  3. On the next screen type a new password and confirm it before proceeding

Please note: Current password restrictions require your password to be a minimum of 6 characters (letters, numbers, symbols, or any mix of the three) and cannot be any of your last 5 passwords.

Remember to update your password in your mail app on your device.

Embracing Technology

Our Primary teachers have been embracing  some of the new technology they have had to learn quickly.

Drink Bottles- Important message

From Friday 27th March the bubblers at the College will be turned off for hygiene reasons,

please ensure your child has a labelled drink bottle with them at school. This can be refilled during the day at our refill station.

Extra Precautions

Staff are taking extra precautions in an effort to keep students and staff onsite well during this time. Over 60 TCC staff are having their flu injection today.

Well Done - Bebras Challenge

Congratulations to our Year 3 to Year 6 students who participated in the Bebras Challenge. We have received great results, with around 120 students taking part and a large number receiving Merits and three students being awarded Credits, scoring in the 90's. In Mrs Tindall's words "very impressive".  Drew in Year 6 was awarded Best in School with an outstanding result.

Well Done Drew !

Another recipe to try with the kids

Another great recipe from Mrs Green who said "this is a great one to get the kids dipping in flour, egg and crumbs. It is also important that you get them to help clean up as well."

Learning on Site

It was such a beautiful day yesterday, teachers took the opportunity to move classes outside, this helps with keeping social distancing and to appreciate how fortunate we are that Taree Christian College is in the beautiful Manning Valley.

A Labour of Love

Since the end of 2018  students have been working in the Technology Workshop in their lunchtimes to restore a 1979 Suzuki TS100. The bike started as a rusty barn find with lots of missing parts. The idea was to create a cafe racer from the old bike and restore it with as many original parts as possible. Several students worked on the project over this time under the guidance of Mr Craig. The bike will be on display in the College Front Office later in the year. What an amazing transformation, well done to all involved.

Original look of the Suzuki TS100 (not our actual bike)

Completed project with Maverick, who started working on the bike when he was only in Year 8

The canteen will now operate as lunch orders only. We have no over the counter service. All orders must be placed on flexischools. This is a temporary additional measure to keep our children safe.

Our Mission Statement

Even in these changing circumstances we are striving to educate excellently, developing and nuturing our students in a dynamic, caring and creative way, while being a Christ-centred community.
