We have a number of new families joining us in Term 2 with the enrolment of ten students from Years 7-11. Most of them have been introduced to students from their year levels. Orientation Day will take place on Thursday 30 March and we look forward to welcoming them to our community.
This morning our VCE students studying Art and Studio Arts visited Top Arts 2017 at the NGV in Federation Square. This exhibition showcases the outstanding achievements of some of Victoria’s most gifted young artists in 2016 whose works in painting, drawing, sculpture and multimedia are sure to impress all those who visit.
We are very proud of the fact that one such student is alumni Charlie Lloyd whose work acetate is part of the exhibition.
Top Arts opened last Friday and runs until Sunday 16 July so if you get the chance to visit during the school holidays you will not be disappointed. The works are exceptional and provide wonderful inspiration for students and art lovers generally. Admission free.
We had a wonderful turnout to our Working Bee on Sunday 19 March. A heartfelt THANK YOU to all the families and staff who gave up their time to help care for the grounds that our students enjoy. It was a very warm day but many hands made for light work and we were able to accomplish a great deal over the morning.
THANK YOU to the Class Reps who sent out regular information to ensure the day was a success. It was our biggest turnout yet, represented by all year levels, and a fantastic opportunity to prepare for our Open Day.
Don't worry if you missed it - we will be having another Working Bee in Spring and would love for you to join in the fun.
THANK YOU to those families who handed out Open Day postcards to local primary schools, cafés, libraries and other places in local communities. We had an impressive turnout and the rain managed to hold off until late afternoon.
THANKS ALSO to the parents who attended on the day, shared their stories and helped welcome our visitors - you are great ambassadors for the School.
After a very busy start to the year we welcome the holidays. I hope you have a safe and relaxing break and look forward to seeing the students return on Wednesday 19 April for the start of the new term.
