On March 17, the  girls volleyball teams went to Melbourne Girls College for interschool sports. Everyone was amazing. It didn’t matter which school came out on top - it was a lot of fun cheering on others and hanging out with friends - playing volleyball tied the day together. It was a great day.

Sports days are the perfect opportunity to see students enjoy an activity they have chosen to do. Watching the girls volleyball teams I saw amazing team spirit, good teamwork,  loads of encouragement, camaraderie and a great work ethic.

Most of the times that I ask how they went in their games, students first answered with whether they had won or lost - as it seems the most important thing to say. However, by the end of the day all the girls recognised that winning or losing is merely the result of the game and their enjoyment comes from experiencing  teamwork, perseverance, fairness and a growing interest for the game.

We had an amazing time at interschool sports. Volleyball was heaps of fun just catching up with friends from other schools and chilling out with my team. We enjoyed winning and losing, since it was all just fun.

At the start of the tournament our social teams lacked confidence and communication, however after talking and assisting the Year 8 Volleyball girls, the coaches improved communication and teamwork skills within the teams.
