Overdue books:

Please be aware that any book that was due back in Term 2 will be charged to accounts at the end of this term. Affected students have been advised at the Senior School via their mentors, and Junior School class teachers have sent notices home. If your child asserts that the book is back, please let us know and we can check.  Books do occasionally miss being scanned, or find their way back onto the shelves without being spotted by our beady eyes!

Students who have overdue books are students who borrow. If your child never borrows this is a serious concern to us.  We charge for replacement on overdue books so that we can keep our collection intact, not as punishment. If you find a book we reimburse the fee.

The impact that reading for 20 minutes per day has on academic results is massive. In this digital age when we often just skim a small screen means that academic reading becomes more difficult. Immersion in a story book is really good for brain development. Please join us in encouraging your child to read and to borrow from our wonderful and contemporary collection for their long-term benefit!

Holiday borrowing:

Students other than those at ELC may borrow over the break. It has been wonderful to see some students already walking out of the library with a stack of books. Don’t forget, you are welcome to join our family book bag program. Just send me an email!
