Committee

The third wheel...or is the first?

Part of the team.

Whilst there are many sub teams within the CPFNC community that we will introduce you to, including coaches, players, volunteers and supporters - we'd thought we'd start with the introduction to our dedicated committee.

Starting left to right and seated

Julie Saunders - aiming to go in the Guinness book of records as the greatest and longest serving volunteer in history. With well over 40 years in continuous service running the canteen. She now has taken on Thursday Night Meals because she 'loves it'.

Leanne Gniel - thought she had earnt a break after serving as secretary of Balnarring Tennis Club and jumps straight into the secretarial role at CPFNC and into the fire. What a pick up for CPFNC. Son Jacob plays in U19's and is a future senior ruckman. Husband Ron jumps onto any distribution list he can get on.

Second row left to right

Stephen Espenschied - devoid of much hair but had a full set when starting the President's gig. Regularly talks too much. Local PE teacher and regularly threatened by wife to start pulling weight at home. Sons Jayden and Kye are senior players.

Megan Wisken - in charge of promoting and coordinating you guys - 'members'. Has done a mountain of work in expanding our membership base. Local legend, mother of players Joel and Cooper with Noah on the way, as in playing one day at Crib. Megan is also in charge of keeping husband Andrew in check which may be one of her hardest tasks.

Craig Field - there is nothing this man will not put up his hand to do. Comes from a long Crib Point history as a player and contributor to the club. Has a strong community association with Flinders Cricket Club and both Crib Point and Balnarring Junior Football Clubs. Just don't get in his way in the kitchen on a Thursday night.

Evert DeKleuver - locally self acclaimed comedian with a rich beetroot complexion. This man has a heart of gold and is responsible for building many of the small structures around the Reserve. Always on the look out for helping, assisting and promoting young adults. Just ask him what honour boards his name appears on - he'll be happy to tell you.

Third row left to right

Mark Laughton - adherence to process, compliance and the ability to dissect an argument are some great strengths that Mark brings developed as a policeman and now local lawyer. A great resource as a Vice President. You might see him on the weekend pumping his legs on a bike trying to keep up with his wife Fi. Mark also divides his time being on the board of the Bendigo Bank Balnarring and was also previously involved with Balnarring Junior Football Club. Son Harri currently plays in the U19's and is blitzing.

Cameron Macnabb - if you want any money, then Nabby is the man to see in his role as treasurer. You would't want to be playing poker against this guy. Apparently he was once the hard man of Cribby football and he has done absolutely nothing to dispel this perception. A huge commitment with the time put into the club coming from Mt Martha with son Jayden starting in the Mt Martha juniors. He is already be making an impact at senior level.

Luke Herrington - local myth has it that a family of possums lives in his hair but Mr Crib Point would laugh that away. An incredibly talented footballer who has been courted by many over the years but has stayed the course in his belief that some things are more important than money. Really the true essence and heart of the club and never short of an opinion. Wife Laura is one of the main drivers and architects of the hugely successful netball program.

Back row left to right

Leo Cook - basically as close as you'll get to a club historian and long time club advocate on many levels. Shuff this year is also the volunteer coordinator - he just needs to find a few. Leo is a great observer and conversationalist if you have a spare couple of psare hours. Just be wary of the lead "What I'm telling you is ....." Leo has Superboot Jacob playing as one of the senior players in the club.

Trevor Waterfall - Another Balnarring Junior Football Club recruit, this man has to be the most connected person on the peninsula. From AFL coaching legends to sourcing someone to fix a gate. He knows them all. He classes himself as a humble farmer but word is out that he is actually a land baron masquerading as a farmer. Trev has been a huge pick up for the club with his energy and enthusiasm. His son Harry is another of the huge pool of talented U19's.

Mick Smith - don't let his nonchalant exterior fool you. Underneath is someone who'd love nothing better then to run through a brick wall. Mick is in charge of football and netball operations or core business. He has two sons playing senior football, Ethan and Joe. He runs Sweetwater plumbing and was instrumental in the construction of house last year which was crucial to club finances. 'The Wizard' as he was know in his playing days is also good at catching chickens.

Amy Cook - continues a long history of the Cook family in community service. It is great to see such a young vibrant girl making a difference and continuing to play an active role in community development. Amy plays netball and also coaches the budding U17's netball team. She is also in charge of social functions and planning. Amy is into her second year as a student teacher and a huge club contributor.

Dave Shepherd - what a man. Those biceps are well and truly pumped. Dave has taken and absolutely run with developing club income streams, so oversees all facets of sponsorship, membership, merchandise and so forth. He has been seen quietly giving advice to Mick on all matters chickens whilst running farms in SA. We're still waiting for Dave to give us the clues on separating his two playing twins, Myles and Archie in the U19's. A huge plus for the club.

Injured, under suspension, training or just can't read a text message

Tim Cook - the big Southy balances a big workload; playing, committee, working long hours and generally investing in any asset class he can get onto. Word on the street is that he is in fact a bitcoin millionaire. First to test committee policy at 11.55 pm  on a Saturday night function at the rooms. More Cook's than you can poke a stick at.

Tim Beech - the big man around the club. Life member and someone who loves being around. Tim is in charge of raffles and anything else we can throw at him. Son Freddie already touted as a future club ruckman. Claims every year to be retired but always ends up having that one last run if the reserves are running short.

Amie Collinson - has occupied many club positions and is always the first to volunteer for a task. Netballer, coach, in charge of merchandise last year and now committee. Amie is always looking to improve what currently exists and contribute. Has well and truly stepped out of the shadow of club legend Duane now he is competing in a distant league.

Joel Wisken - has there ever been a man more concerned about his latest haircut? Son of Megan and Andrew, Joel is now a senior footballer and illustrates the tradition of younger club members getting involved and having voice in the running of the club. Making valuable contributions at all levels.

Jacob Collins - already starting to lobby for being the the next president, Jacob would probably be more comfortable with the corridors of Canberra. An emerging leader in the club and senior player, Jacob is growing his leadership skill sets and abilities. Fantastic assett to our club and committee.
