Anzac Day

God of love and liberty, we thank you for the peace and security we enjoy. It was won for us through the courage and devotion of those who gave their lives in time of war. We pray that their labour and sacrifice may not be in vain, but that their spirit may live on in us and in generations to come. We ask this prayer in the name of Jesus and in the power of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

A Prayer from the Book for Australia

O God, our ruler and guide, 

in whose hands are the destinies of this and every nation,

we give you thanks for the freedoms we enjoy in this land

and for those who laid down their lives to defend them;

We pray that we  and all the people in Australia,

gratefully remembering their courage and their sacrifice, 

may have grace to live in a spirit of justice,

of generosity, and of peace;

through Jesus Christ our Lord,

who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,

one God, for ever and ever.

AMEN.    

Leader : They shall grown not old, as we that are left grow old;

Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.

Student Prayers

I share with you some very special prayers of thanks from some of the Year 3/4 students.

Aiden S

Dear God thank you for forgiving me.

Thank you for giving me shelter, love, food, water and Courage  also happiness.

And friends to keep me occupied and busy.

Happiness because if I didn’t have happiness I would be miserable.

Friends because I do not like to be bored.

Shelter because I love to stay warm. 

Food and water so I don’t get hungry and thirsty.

Love and courage love so I can love my Mum and Dad and courage to try new things.

Dear Lord

I am grateful that you gave us food and water and shelter. 

I am also grateful for my family and friends and keeping us away from Covid 19. I pray that covid19 ends someday and everyone gets better. I pray that my family doesn't get Covid 19 and help people who are suffering.
