Learning in STEM

Ms Delport

STEM is sharing the learning taking place in class…

Over the semester students have been very busy in STEM.  From learning about cells in Year 6 and animal adaptations in Year 5, to living and non-living objects in Year 3.

Year 4  students have focused on living objects in different biomes around the World.

We have also been using lots of different technology in our learning, including microscopes and Merge Cubes for Augmented reality.  Year 4 students were able to use the HoloGlobe App to show real-time data from around the World including bushfires, vegetation, and temperatures.

Year 3 students were able to use the microscopes to explore living and non-living objects and Year 6 students used the microscopes to get up close and personal with microorganisms (cells) in their food.

The students will finish off the year working on their coding skills, using either the App CodeSpark or Scratch.  Scratch is free to use at home, however, unfortunately, CodeSpark does require a subscription.
