Parents' Association

Thank you to everyone who attended our Term 4 Parents’ Association meeting and Annual General Meeting this week, and to those parents and staff who presented funding proposals for consideration. It was a warm and lively meeting, with a pleasing mix of banter and business.

 

We are very pleased to announce that both the funding proposals presented at the meeting were successful:

  • Sustainable Schools Shop Annual Registration $1,250.00
  • Table Tennis Wellness Proposal $4,446.00

We are also pleased to announce the incoming Head of Inspire as Jodii Giannis, whose expertise in Performance Psychology is a great fit with the Inspire ethos. We would like to take this opportunity to thank Jodi Mills for her work on Inspire, particularly over the very difficult COVID-19 period, and express our appreciation for the strong succession model she has put in place as she nears the end of her time as a parent of the College.

 

As the meeting also constituted the AGM for 2022, the Treasurer presented a list of proposals funded by the Parents’ Association over the past financial year. These are listed below:

  • Discus Safety Cage $7,968.00
  • Inspire Webinar Justin Coulson $600.00
  • Music Loop pedal system $3,286.00
  • Sustainable Schools Shop Annual Registration $1,136.00
  • Men of John XXIII event $500
  • Year 7 parents welcome event $6,892.00

The 2023 Parents’ Association Committee was elected at the meeting, and we are pleased to announce them below:

  • President: Lisha D’Souza
  • Vice Presidents: Emma Smith & Steve Jennings
  • Secretary: Paula Hackett 
  • Treasurer: Michael Thornton
  • General Committee Members: Caroline Di Costa, Paul Douglas, Olivia Watson, Eric Maroni, Kerry Tudori, Matt Edmondson and Jackie Walsh.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank those members retiring from executive roles for their contributions, particularly Matt Edmondson, Liv Watson and Eric Maroni. All have agreed to stay on as general members, and it is heartening to have such a strong and committed group of volunteers representing our parent body.
