From the Deputy Principal

Megan Nertney

On the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month in 1918 an armistice was signed that stopped the fighting in World War I. Since then, and after World War II, this day of remembrance became known as ‘Remembrance Day’ so we can remember the people who have died in all wars. Today the Year 6 Alice Campers and I were lucky enough to attend the ceremony at the top of ANZAC Hill. We are able to meet the Chief Minister Natasha Fyles, the Education Minister Eva Lawler and the Alice Springs Major Matt Patterson. Being at ANZAC hill today was a very humbling experience, seeing the young cadets, honouring the soldiers and remembering the lives and the sacrifices of the many people who have been involved in wars. Lest We Forget.

For the next two weeks our Foundation to Year 4 students will be swimming Monday to Thursday. Don’t forget to bring a separate swimming bag with swimmers, towels, flip flops and goggles if required. We hope the children enjoy this learning experience and build confidence in the water.
