Deputy Principal Staff and Students Report

Child Safety
We are continuing to work as a staff in this most important area. One area of focus for staff of late has been the four critical actions when responding to incidents of child safety. We welcome any feedback from parents or any concerns or information that we should be aware of to assist us in making sure all students feel safe and welcome in our community.
Term 4
Having just returned from the mid-term break Term 4 is moving along very quickly. For our students the ability to persevere and keep working until the end of the term is very important. Perseverance is important not just for school, but in so many different areas of life. We encourage students to keep working hard and building on the foundations laid throughout the year. With Year 10 & 11 exams, Year 9 City Experience and Year 8 Camps all fast approaching there are some significant and exciting events ahead, together with a need to keep the focus on learning.
Respect
One of our behavioral expectations is respect. Respect for oneself, respect for other students, respect for staff, respect for your family and respect for others are all areas that we discuss and reflect upon at school from time to time. Part of our work is teaching students what respect looks like in the different aspects of school life and the different contexts in which learning takes place. We encourage parents and carers to also have conversations with your children about respect, particularly with a view to assisting them to understand what respect actually looks like in a given context. As teachers we understand that parents are the primary educators of their children and desire to support parents in their role and work with parents as a team for the best outcomes for your children.
Team
As mentioned above we see our work complimenting parents/carers and working as a team with you. We continue to encourage parents and carers to contact your child’s Pastoral Teacher should there be any concerns or information that would be helpful to discuss and share for the benefit of your child.
Please feel free to call the College should there be anything we can assist with.
God Bless
Mr Justin Duckett
