SOUTHERN METRO MIXED/BOYS HOT SHOT TENNIS NEWS!

Our grade 6 Hot Shots Tennis Team competed at the Southern Metro regional final on Wednesday 16th November in very trying conditions (rain and wind!) at Pakenham Regional Tennis Centre.

The day consisted of many singles and doubles matches. Our students played against three other schools in their pool and won these rounds convincingly before playing Brighton Primary in the grand final.  They played so well in the final, winning many matches and claiming victory. The team is now through to the state final!

Congratulations to our grade 6 mixed Hot Shots Tennis Team. We are very proud of your achievements!

The team competed at the Southern Metro Region final on Monday 14th November at Springers Leisure Centre and went through the day undefeated. They won the grand final against Casey Fields, 2 sets to 1 in a nail biting 3rd set.

They played incredibly well as a team and showed great sportsmanship and cohesiveness. Thanks must go to Sarah Paletu’a for her incredible coaching throughout the journey. Thanks also to our wonderful parents who cheered the boys on!

Well done, boys!

On Monday 21st November the mixed Hot Shots Tennis team travelled to Kooyong Lawn Tennis Club to compete at the state championships.

The team beat 3 schools and won their pool. The grand final was next and they competed very hard against Christ the Priest Primary. The team were down after all of the singles but had a huge comeback in the doubles. They managed to even the score at the end of the grand final, 6 sets apiece, but narrowly went down by 5 points!
