Junior Volleyball Teams in WMR Finals

Congratulations to our Year 7 boys Volleyball team who came second in their pool on 3rd November and the Year 8 boys and girls Volleyball teams who were runners up for the WMR Volleyball Finals!

A big thank you to Mr Eugenio who has worked so hard this year with the students and Mr Kelputis for also taking on some coaching and supporting the students.

The Year 7 boys played so well and were only one win short of going into the finals. The Year 7 girls were undefeated going into the finals and had a very close round against Grange College but unfortunately were defeated in the end.

Congratulations to all these students on their great efforts and hard work, you have done the College proud!

Year 11 VCAL Activities

This term the Year 11 VCAL students have been very busy attending the following activities which completed their year in Year 11:

  • Numeracy in practice – measuring and building wooden boxes
  • Visiting and helping out in local Primary Schools
  • First Aid Course
  • Fit to Drive Course
  • Cooking
  • Excursion to Hanging Rock

The students gained valuable skills and experiences throughout these activities and were able to build their resilience, confidence and connection with communities as well as apply what they have learnt this year to the real world.  It's safe to say the students and the teachers had lots of fun!

Lady Northcote Camp

On Monday 10th October, it was a beautiful sunny morning and 90 of our Junior Campus students packed their bags and sleeping bags to spend 3 days at Lady Northcote Recreational Camp.

We were incredibly lucky with amazing weather for the whole 3 days which meant students could make the most of all their activities (and even falling out of their canoe wasn’t too bad!).

Over the three days, students eagerly participated in a number of activities including canoeing, geo caching, kitchen garden (making woodfire pizzas), initiatives course, and challenged themselves both mentally and physically with taking on the high ropes course and the 20 metre high giant swing!

Our students were nothing but amazing, creating bonds and friendships with each other that have continued to flourish since being back at school this term. Students were supportive and encouraged each other to build their confidence and try activities outside of their comfort zones, and always celebrated the wins with each other.

The atmosphere was electric during trivia night, as students enjoyed friendly competition in a number of rounds including famous faces, general knowledge, name the song and a dry weetbix eating competition.

On day 2, students were busy with another four activity rotations. Students continued to develop friendships and attempted all activities with high levels of enthusiasm. They wound down from a busy day with a movie night in the main hall.

On day 3, it was time to pack up and jump on the bus to head home, however students had another chance to compete as teams in a number of challenges including archery before they left.

The Camp was a fantastic experience for all students and teachers who attended. Thank you to all students for being such amazing participants no matter what was asked of them (from trying a new activity, to even being duty students) and continuing to build our school community. A huge thank you also to all the staff who volunteered their time to attend camp with me, it couldn’t have gone ahead without you!
