Music and Concert Band

Music 

The students of the music department have had an amazing year of learning and performing and still have a few important performances to come:

• Year 7 Band - Year 7 Orientation Day on Tuesday 13th December
• Big Band and VCE Group – Graduation and Presentation Evening on Wednesday 14th December

School Instruments

All students who are continuing on with learning their musical instruments in 2023 will be asked to take them home over the coming weeks for the summer holidays.  It would be wonderful if the students played for family and friends over the holiday break and returned to school in term 1 with having recently and regularly having played their instrument.

If you have any school instruments at home that are no longer being used or you are not continuing on that instrument next year, please return it to school by December 1st. 

2023 - Year 7 Concert Band

There are still are a handful of places available for the Year 7 Concert Band program for next year. 

These students learn an instrument in small groups and take part in two concert band music classes each week. The instruments available to learn include – flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, tuba, bass guitar and percussion. If you know of a current Year 6 student who might be interested in a position in this program, please contact Robert Breen as soon as possible: robert.breen@education.vic.gov.au.

2023 will be a very fulfilling and exciting year of music making and we are very much looking forward to performing for the school community.
