It has been a busy few weeks at Lalor Secondary and within the junior school with a number of exciting events going occurring. Over the past two weeks our year 8 students have been undertaking their Market Days which have been a part of their Inquiry classes. The Market Days have been the product of a lot of hard work this semester as students have started from scratch and been involved in creating their own business from designing a product to taking it to market. The students created things such as T-Shirts, Badges, Keyrings, Fidget Spinners, Stickers, Games and toys, as well as many tasty food items. These products were purchased with tokens by other visiting year levels as customers. The Innovation Centre was all a buzz with the market in full swing. It was fantastic to see the enthusiasm and hard work of the students pay off in such a fantastic event.

On Thursday the 10th the junior school hosted the year 7 2023 information evening. Our newest students and families visited the school to hear about what to expect as our newest arrivals and inductees to the college. Thank you to all the families and students that came along and engaged in the presentations and asked questions. And a very special thank you to all the staff involved in the evening and welcoming the 2023 cohort. 

Our next big step for the 2023 year 7 students is the Orientation Day that will be occurring on Tuesday December 13th. All year 6 students will be visiting Lalor Secondary for the entire day to get their first experience of secondary school life. We look forward to seeing them all then.

The end of the year is rapidly approaching with classes soon to come to an end, we also look to head into our end of year activities program. Our end of year program begins week ten of the term from Monday the 5th of December. Student will be engaged in a number of hands on practical and engaging activities to continue to maintain their drive and focus until the years end. Permissions slips and notices have been handed out to all student this week. Please be aware of this and ensure that these are returned as soon as possible.
