ADVANCE

Camp

Over the past 2 weeks, students from the ADVANCE program have embarked on a 3 day 2 night bushwalking and surfing camp in Lorne. There were many challenges set by the weather for the students to overcome including rain, wind and mud. Students left the luxury of their homes to sleep in tents with sleeping bags, cook on Trangia’s for their dinner and breakfast, have no access to showers, have minimal reception for their phones and had to go to the toilet in drop toilets. There were many ups and downs from the camps and multiple slips and falls, but overall the students demonstrated amazing resilience as well as great teamwork and cooperation throughout the camps. Students learnt fundamental life skills and can carry these attributes into their everyday life for the future. A special thanks to Mr.Ladnjak, Mr.Danher, Mrs. Foster, Mr.Bullen & Mrs. Ferns for their involvement and their ongoing support throughout the organisation and running of both camps.
