Teaching and Learning

Teaching and Learning with Ms Barnett

Hello families!

We are halfway through our final term for 2022, with many learning experiences yet to be had. Currently our students are building their knowledge and understanding around new content areas including:

  • Our Five Senses
  • The Human Body
  • How our Body Works and
  • Consumerism.

I hope that over the dinner table you have been hearing about pleasant and unpleasant odours, the gluteus maximus, how the human eye works and persuasive techniques used in advertising that turn our wants into needs!

Next week the ¾ students will be embarking on a new unit of study where they will engage in the reading of The Wind in the Willows. This can be downloaded as an eBook on iPads for free and will be used as a resource in class. If parents and carers could do this for student iPads prior to next week, Mrs Clancy and Miss Armstrong will be delighted.

Thanking you in anticipation!

Reading Information Session

Next Tuesday marks our second Foundation Transition session, and I’m happy to invite any interested parents and carers to come along and hear how we can support our students read at home. The focus will be on our ‘Teesdale Way,’ our school’s approach to reading and our home reading program. All are welcome!

Tuesday 15th November
